Nepali Sim

Arriving in Kathmandu, Nepal? Getting a Nepal SIM card at Tribhuvan International Airport is quick and easy. Once you collect your baggage and pass through customs, you’ll see a covered area outside the baggage hall. On your right-hand side, there are outlets of Nepal’s popular mobile network providers: NCELL and NTC.

Requirements for Foreigners

To get a Nepal SIM card for tourists, you need:

  • A scan copy of passport

  • Passport size photo

  • Fill out a registration form (takes less than 5 minutes)

No printed photo? Don’t worry — the outlets provide urgent photo services on the spot. For Indian citizens, a voter card can be used instead of a passport.

Activate Your Nepal SIM Card

After purchasing, follow the instructions on the packaging to activate your SIM card in Kathmandu. Activation may take a few hours.

Can I Buy a SIM Card Near My Hotel?

Yes! You can buy a Nepal SIM card at nearby mobile shops or SIM card provider outlets close to your Kathmandu hotel. The process is the same: submit a scan copy of passport, passport photo, and complete the registration form.
